MU President receives a General Training Team from GAHAR (General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulations)
Emphasizing the significance of training and preparing healthcare service providers in university hospitals to uphold quality standards, Prof. Dr. Essam Farhat, the university President, received the board members of the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulations (GAHAR). The team included Dr. Sayed Al-AKouda and Dr. Walaa Abd El-Latif, convened in the presence of Dr. Ayman Hassanein, the University's Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the Executive Director of University Hospitals. Additionally, in attendance were Dr. Hossam Shoukry, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and President of the University Hospitals Board, and Dr. Naglaa Makram, Director of the Quality Unit at Minia University Hospitals.
During the session, Prof. Farhat outlined the university's vision and its pursuit of quality and accreditation for its medical facilities and hospitals, aiming to provide optimal services to patients within the governorate and beyond. He highlighted recent hospital advancements and the Egyptian government's focus on healthcare, as well as the university's initiatives to enhance hospital infrastructure for efficient and high-quality performance through skilled medical staff and teams.
The program, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ahmed Taha, President of GAHAR, unfolded over two days at the university's Information Technology Center. It aimed to educate participants on national safety requirements for preparing healthcare personnel in compliance with accreditation standards set by GAHAR. This encompassed understanding the accreditation system, decision-making protocols, basic prerequisites, and a detailed explanation of national safety standards covering patient safety, infection control measures, medicines management, surgical procedures, anesthesia practices, environmental safety, and medical facility protocols.
The GAHAR delegation included Dr. Mohamed El-Saeis, General Director of Administrative Control, Dr. Shimaa Abdel-Fattah, General Director of Non-Staff Training, and Dr. Ahmed Asem, a member of the General Training for Non-Staff Administration.
